Our History
Every great bar has a great story. Here's ours.
The Vanderbar story began with a love of vintage vehicles and a dream of doing something truly different. The idea was simple: take iconic vans from a bygone era and turn them into something extraordinary — a collection of bars unlike anything else.
Our first van — a 1972 Citroen HY — was discovered and immediately recognised as something special. With its distinctive corrugated bodywork, deep red paintwork and unmistakable French character, she was the perfect foundation for a mobile bar.

The Find

The conversion process was a labour of love. Every detail was considered — from the bar top to the tap handles, the lighting to the signage. The result? A fully-functioning, beautifully-crafted mobile bar that turns heads wherever it goes.

The Conversion

Demand was growing and one van wasn't enough. Enter the cream 1979 Peugeot J7 — another classic van with bags of character. She underwent the same loving conversion process and joined the collection, ready to serve.
The collection quickly became a fixture on the events circuit. Chester Races, Ladies Day, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, music festivals — The Vanderbar has been there, serving pints and making memories.
Today, The Vanderbar operates UK wide from our Midlands base, bringing pints, wines, cocktails and more to music festivals, sporting events, weddings and private parties. Our third van — a one of a kind 1954 original Citroen camper van — is soon to debut in 2026. Watch this space.

Famous Faces
We've had the pleasure of serving some well-known faces over the years.

The legendary Baby D — of "Let Me Be Your Fantasy" fame — got behind the bar and pulled the pints at one of our events. A true Vanderbar moment.

Sweet Female Attitude
Leanne Brown of Sweet Female Attitude joined us at The Vanderbar — all smiles behind the bar with the team.

Andre Saxman Brown brought his saxophone and his smile to The Vanderbar — a brilliant moment with the team behind the bar.

Kisstory
Justin Wilkes of Kisstory joined the team for a night in front of the Peugeot J7 — drinks in hand and great vibes all round.
"We didn't just build a bar. We built an experience."
The Vanderbar is more than a mobile bar — it's a piece of history, lovingly restored and ready to be part of your story.
